Notting Hill carnival, London, August 2023

I thought I’d try and take some photos on the Sunday, the apparent ‘family’ day of the carnival. Although it still felt like absolute mayhem to me (in a good way), and made Mardi Gras in New Orleans – which I’ve been to – slightly pale in comparison. I’ve been to Notting Hill carnival twice before, over a decade ago, but this time, taking photos, I figured it would be different. And it was. I actually felt like I saw a lot more this time, wandering around. I soaked up the vibe. It was really lovely, a nice atmosphere, everyone having fun.
